Rohde & Schwarz USA, located in Irving, TX, has taken over the EM TEST sales and service business for the US and Canada. Together with their nationwide sales organization, excellent service capabilities and industry presence, this is an exact fit, and a great step forward for our sales in the US and Canada.
Rohde&Schwarz and EM TEST are used to work in the Test & Measurement area for many years and therefore very well understand the need of customers in this field. Together Rohde&Schwarz EMC division and EM TEST have an extraordinary product coverage in the EMC market, from single box solutions to turnkey facilities or anything in between, from emission measurements to immunity testing. There is a solution for nearly everything no matter whether it is Automotive, Commercial, Telecom or Military applications.

Once again the EM TEST booth was the highlight at the EMV 2006 in Dusseldorf.

As usual, EM TEST impressed its visitors with an extraordinary gig. Because of the football world championship which takes place in Germany, this year`s booth motto was the global sport event.

Of course, EM TEST convinced with a variety of innovations. The presentation of the brand-new Electronic-Fast-Transient-Simulators EFT 500M8 (up to 7 kV according to current burst standard) as well as the extension of the record function for the new AutoWave. ‘The advanced Continous-Wave Simulator CWS 500 C with its extended frequency range up to 300 MHz called particular attention just as all EM TEST product news. Worth to mention is the presented development of the messtec EMI receiver UCR 3000M, which besides its new technical highlights has integrated a click meter. Furthermore, Mr. Detlef Schiemann, general manager of messtec GmbH, Berlin, held a comprehensive tutorial about “emission measurements conforming to standards, low-priced and their implementation; a speech that numerous auditors listened to.

EM TEST was pleased to welcome a large number of visitors and prospective customers on the innovative EM TEST booth. Many of them took advantage of the unexpected opportunity to play a match at one of the both EM TEST ´s table soccer. A lot of new contacts were established as well as existing business relations were cultivated and deepened.

A few weeks after the opening of the new office EM TEST Malaysia participated in the EMC Zurich Symposium held in Singapore for the first time. Present with a fairly big booth our range of products could be demonstrated to a large number of prospective customers introducing ourselves as a competent partner for EMC testing.

The response from our US customers about the changeover in distributorship is very positive. We got lots of supporting comments from existing customers, while going through the current dispute with AR, encouraging us to restart business in the US as soon as possible. Customers are very happy with EM Test equipment and, of course, they are interested in using it further. We are very optimistic that this case will be settled soon. In the meantime we will fully support all customers directly from Switzerland.

Some customers are questioning about the economic influence to the EM TEST business. Our answer is a simple one: No need to worry about EM TEST!
2005 was the most successful year in the history of EM TEST. Growth in incoming orders was 25% compared to 2004 (which was the best year we ever had so far). And this was reached despite sales in the US was low already in 2005. 2006 has started with even better figures than we had seen at the end of 2005. EM TEST business is extraordinary good in Europe and Asia.

We will keep you informed about the progress in this matter.

Amplifier Research has decided to design their own products and to build up a competitive product line against EM TEST. EM TEST has terminated the agreement for distributorship by November 30, 2005.

For unexplainable reasons AR refuses to accept the termination but continues insisting instead on their exclusive rights. AR still wants to control the sales of EM TEST products, probably due to the fact that they have not yet finished the design of their own product range. EM TEST was forced to court therefore. So far AR’s motions have been denied upon EM TEST’s opposition thereto and it seems that everything will turn out well.

The case is not settled yet. Nevertheless, EM TEST feels obligated to now restart supreme sales and after sales service together with a new sales partner in the above mentioned territories.
